Oanda Forex API expert question

I'm stumped on this question, and can't seem to find an answer - hoping someone with more experience can give some insight.
When I pull from the V20 candles API, my ohlcv matches Trading View charts exactly, but the datetime of the candles is off by 24 hours. For example, pulling from the accounts/candles/latest rest point - the closed candle for Friday, March 27th, (yesterday) shows a date of the 26th... ???
For example, here's the api call, bid price only, default daily Alignment, and timezone, I get the UTC timestamp of the candle for NY 5pm, but the date is the 26th, not Friday, March 27th, 2020. What gives?

Trading ISK pairs

I cannot find a US Broker that trades ISK (Icelandic Krona). However, I am not sure if my research is accurate - i am not 100pct sure their ads are only listing popular pairs, not all the pairs they offer. Ive looked ar Oanda, forex dot com, and td ameritrade and as far as i can tell, they do not.
I know ISK trading was suspended in 2008 during their banking crisis but assume it is resumed?
Are there any UK or Eu brokers that handle it? Im having a hard time googling any useful information other than currecy conversions.
Any help appreciated, thx

For highly experienced traders, when does liquidity become an issue?

Let's say someone theoretically was ready to trade $1,000 pips with their own money with a broker like Oanda, or any USA broker. Oanda, forex.com, IG, Oanda, maybe Oanda.
Let's also say this trader liked trading exotic pairs, like PLN/JPY, TRY/JPY, USD/CZK.
Those in the know. When would liquidity become an issue? Thanks in advance.

Broker fees

Hi, I really like the TradingView platform, and would love to connect a broker with them and trade in real time. I'm disappointed that Coinbase Pro isn't an available broker, but I am open to the idea of opening up a separate account with the brokers that TradingView provides. Are fees across all brokers the same for trading cryptocurrency? If not, which broker is the best overall? (Out of CQG, FXCM, OANDA, forex.com). I live in the US btw.

[Request] I was looking for some insight on low spread brokers in the US.

Hey everyone.
I’ve been trading crypto for a while and have been out of the forex game for a bit and was hoping to get back into it since the crypto market has been flat for so long but I ran into some trouble when trying to find a new broker. The 2016 ruling on eligible participants put my previous broker out of business and made it impossible for me to trade with certain brokers such as Interactive Brokers.
I was looking for a new broker that has low spreads which seem to have all but died in the US. I’m okay with commissions but the spreads at Oanda, forex.com, TD, and Ally are all way too high for my blood; especially for my bread and butter pair GBP/USD. ATC brokers actually seems like a pretty good brokerage for my needs but after some research I found troubling news with their bankruptcy and I don’t quite understand how an introducer brokerage works. (maybe the answer lies with ATC and you guys can take my mind off the drawbacks.)
I have a pretty decent strategy that after back testing with commissions and spreads equal to ATC’s under sub-par* conditions has max 30% drawdown, avg 15-20% profit per month, and 1.23 sharpe over 10 years. The downside of this is that with my strategy I have a very tight stop, 6-12 pips most of the time. The larger the spread the worse off I am. A 10$ per lot commission is nothing compared to an additional pip of spread in my case.
Can anyone suggest a US brokerage that suits my needs other than ATC or do I have to take the risk on them not going bankrupt again?
*Sub-par trading conditions include 3x the avg spread taken into account as slippage, including Friday as a trading day even though the strategy doesn’t work near the weekend, and optimized for a different timeframe and currency pair.
TL;DR - Is ATC Brokerage the only low spread broker for the US and are they trustworthy?

Market Makers Tin Foil Hat

Came across couple threads on here about people discussing SL hunting Market Makers and quite a few said that all this is baloney... Since its Friday and I just finished analyzing the screws ups of the week, I decided to write a short post about the matter from my experience as my PERSONAL opinion.
To begin with, Stock Trading and Options communities have a general consensus that some kind of 'shady activities' occur. It's actually almost a mainstream idea, thanks to movies like Wolf of Wallstreet and people like Musky with his 'funding secured'. Along with countless other charged and non charged insider trading individuals and entities.
I imagine I don’t have to explain the ‘crypto’ market a place where they actually run ads to join a group and then pump and dump some shitty coin.
Anyway enough of other folks, lets move on to Forex. To cut it simply, Banks have already been caught red handed collaborating in chat rooms on how to manipulate the price to their advantage. (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-banks-forex-settlement-idUSKBN0O50CQ20150520)
So this should answer your question if there WAS Market Maker who moved markets.... Yes there was and its not some conspiracy theory, they've been found, charged, fined. Its up to you to decide if this is still going on or just stopped overnight.
Do these people SL hunt your individual positions? No, but what they do is seek liquidity... Chances are, you have placed SL after your usual textbook analysis at a major support/resistance as many other retailers... Experienced Whale traders at CITI, JP etc know where you have these SL. They also know where you most likely placed your pending buy/sell with tight SL. All they have to do is drive the price enough to take out all of the above and stopped out positions will fuel their direction... Combine that with creation of some 'other pattern' and you have bunch of other people jumping on the train going same directions as the institutional trader. Job done.
Now onto the Brokers.
From my experience, there is no such thing as a good Market Maker Broker... Yes there are absolute awful unregulated ones with dealing desk where you will most likely never withdraw any profits and some not so bad ones like Oanda, Forex without a dealing desk.
Ask how Oanda, Forex.com make their money... They will tell you its by spreads... Open up Oanda and check out average spreads and go to 'maximum' ... You will see some rather crazy spreads during news that if you ever traded on ECN would seem alien to you... Same goes to Rollover... Its up to you to decide if these things are just because Oanda and Gain have liquidity providers that are extremely in-flexible or.....
Lets not go far for a recent example, just open up EUUSD 1Minute chart of todays closing. ECN broker closed today at 1.6220 vs 1.6225 aka 0.5 pip spread and thats as high as the price went in last closing minutes... Spread did not jump anywhere much really - I was there to watch it.
Now lets open up Oanda chart on Tradingview... What do we see here? A spike to 1.16262 on last minute - now lets go and check Oandas maximum spread at this exact time, we find that it is exactly 6 pips.
Lets look at the chart again and think where a small time 'retail trader' that trades on small TF's would put their SL. Probably at 1.16254, 1.16282, 1.16293 area and lastly (same as me) 1.16323 area... Neither one of these would have been hit if you traded with ECN Broker... All of these with exception of last one (would be a really close call) would have been hit by Oanda or Forex.com today. Again its up to you to decide if this is just because Gain and Oanda have such 'interesting' liquidity providers or a broker that makes money on spreads is... you know... making money on spreads...
So here is my 2 cents... This again is my personal opinion.

FXCM or Oanda as ForEx broker?

Since my personal crisis last December, I started learning to trade ForEx. Am aware of the risks involved here at the same time I see the current times as the opportunity to trade in either direction.
With some funds spared, am not sure which broker to choose between Oanda or FXCM. Though I refined my learnings through Oanda, I still uncertain how secured my funds will be.
For those who had tried both, which broker do you prefer between the two or you preferred another ForEx broker?

which virtual broker?

hi guys, fairly new and young and have been playing with the Oanda FXTrade Practice demo for about 2-3 weeks now. I have made profits and am looking for a trustworthy, secure platform. I am scared to have all sorts of hidden fees taken from my account and i plan to start with 500$ and see how it goes, then contribute more money (win or loss) if i can withdraw and deposit fairly easily. I live in Canada and am looking at questrade, oanda, forex.ca. which one would those living in Canada suggest?
Thank you

Forex Algos with Quantconnect/Oanda

Hey guys,

This is really just an FYI to anyone who trades Forex with algos. Oanda, Quantconnect, and Tradingview are all very closely integrated, and I've had a really good experience with setting up the algo and having it run on an Oanda practice account. So easy to set up, and everything just works nicely. Not a shill for any of these services, just really had a good experience and wanted to share. Let me know with questions!
